You remember Meggan Meier, yeah? Thirteen year old who got romanced by a
boy on MySpace...said boy turned on her, told her the world was better off
without her? Her mother yelled at her for not logging out when she was
told. She yelled back her mother "you're supposed to be on my side!" and
then hanged herself in her closet with a belt...and then the boy turned
out to be the mother and employees of a neighbor girl Meggan had been
friends with and fallen out with?

And the internet, pretty much displeased at the reporter who broke the
story, found out who Lori Drew and family are, and outed them?

Lori Drew is being indicted for the cyberbullying:

Indigo: *looks out window* ??

apparently, wind has damaged the georgia dome, but it seems pretty calm out now. I got home just before the storm, and it seemed to let up pretty quickly.

That was last night.

More thunderboomers moved in around 4 am; and continued for two hours, durign which I was able to drift back to sleep between giant thundercracks or flashes of lightning so bright it lit up my whole bedroom.

The possible tornado was in downtown Atlanta. Severe winds damaged the Georgia Dome.

One fan was quoted as saying he was afraid it was "a tornado or a terrorist attack."

This is what fearmongering brings...people saying they think Al-Qaeda or somebody attacked a basketball game.

*Sigh*

UPDATE: Photos of the severe damage. Other than money, this is the best reason I can think of to build Atlanta vertically like a real city. Tall buildings break up the wind before it can build up to tornado level, usually.

And according to someone on [info]dragoncon: A Natl Weather Service trained spotter staying on the 10th floor of the Hilton called into Ch. 11 in Atlanta and reported actually seeing the funnel cloud from his room facing the west...it was easy to make out from the downtown lights and he could see debris swirling well above the level of his room...

Oh, and The Wikipedia Article. Because the internet actually is serious business sometimes, isn't it?

And according to what I'm hearing, worse storms are predicted for today.

So much for getting out of the house and doing stuff. I guess it'll have to wait until the weather clears. I don't particularly want debris falling on the Big O or me.

Nicolas Cage may be crazy and have a thing in Japan for TWINS!

Invalid video URL.

But his fans apparently are crazier, as Mr. Cage woke up to discover a naked intruder in his home.

Actor Cage confronts naked intruder
Robert Dennis Furo, who was arrested on suspicion of residential burglary. Police said he was found naked inside actor Nicolas Cage’s Newport Beach home early Monday.
By Dave McKibben, Los Angeles Times Staff Writer
October 4, 2007
A naked tailor allegedly found inside actor Nicolas Cage's Newport Beach home has pleaded not guilty to felony burglary.

Police said Cage discovered Robert Dennis Furo, 45, of San Pedro in a bathroom doorway at 1:30 a.m. Monday, wearing only a leather jacket belonging to the actor.

Police said Furo removed the jacket and Cage escorted him outside, where he was arrested.

Lt. Craig Fox of the Newport Beach Police Department said Cage did not know Furo, who was not carrying a weapon.

"There was no assault to Mr. Cage," and the suspect "didn't resist him or the officers," Fox said.

"We know of no possible motive."

Cage was at home with his wife and small child, police said. The movie star lives in the gated Bayshore community on a parcel where John Wayne's estate was once located.

Police said they did not know how Furo allegedly entered Cage's house or how he slipped past the security gate.

Furo, who was being held in Orange County Jail on $50,000 bail, entered his not guilty plea Tuesday in Newport Beach's Harbor Court.

life support: [LUSH] Belated - A Crash Course in Skin Care

Add to Memories Tell a Friend
I could only find the link to the Aussie one and the UK one, though I swear I got this demo at Lenox in Atlanta!

LUSH's take: <tr><td>Ofall of our gorgeous face masks, this is the one which feels instantlyeffective. That’s why we call it a crash course; it’s fast. Use it whenyou need a simple but effective, deep cleansing, calming, soothing maskand your skin will breathe a sigh of relief immediately, metaphoricallyspeaking. You store it in the fridge, like all of our fresh masks, andas the cool blend of rich organic avocados, softening yoghurt anddeeply cleansing clays touches your skin you will know you’ve done theright thing. It even tastes good, but don’t spread it on your oatcakes, spread it on your face.

Apply to clean damp skin avoiding theeye area; leave on for ten minutes then rinse off with warm water, massaging as you go. At least four treatments per pot.
</td></tr><tr><td>
</td></tr>

Ingredients:</strong>
FreshAvocado (Persea gratissima), Kaolin, Natural Yoghurt, Glycerine, Talc,Fresh Lemon Juice (Citrus limonum), Sandalwood Oil (Santalum album),Lavender Oil (Lavendula hybrida), Lemongrass Oil (Cymbopoganflexuosus), Chamomile Oil (Anthemis nobilis), Perfume.

LUSH forum says: Sorry, didn't grab responses from AU or UK.

Indigo's take: I got spritzed with Eau Roma water before and after. I wasn't impressed.

I love the smell of this. It smells green and fresh in a "just after the rain" way. And it was soothing and calming and comfortable as it dried. It took a little effort to get off, but it did what it was supposed to. I had hideous blackheads all over my nose before. After I didn't. And my pores were so happy, they continued exuding yuck the next day, even. And it's moisturizing enough that it stopped the horrible flakiness I get on my T-Zone and chin, but it didn't dry out my cheeks and nose which don't have that problem.

I'd buy it again for sure, but it's spendy at $20 a pot. Plush, this is facial stuff, with active enzymes, so it's perishable.

Indigo's take: 5/5 again. I may splurge when my finances are in better condition, but not right now.

life support: [LUSH] Temple of Truth

Add to Memories Tell a Friend
I got very angry about something earlier. I addressed it. I let it sit. I stayed angry. I drove home angry. I stayed angry. I was too angry to cook a proper dinner. I talked, and the anger remained. So I decided that, plus the stress, meant I needed to unwind with a Lush bath.

I used a cocktail of Marathon + Hot Milk the other night, and that was nice, but I went for Temple of Truth this time.

LUSH's Take: Simple and meditative. Temple of Truth will bring clarity and ease your decision-making fears with guiacwood and sandalwood.
Ingredients:Sodium Bicarbonate, Tartaric Acid, Sodium Laureth Sulfate, Lauryl Betaine, Cocamide DEA, Titanium Dioxide, Sandalwood Oil (Santalum album), Guiacwood Oil (Bulnesis sarmienti), Rosewood Oil (Aniba rosaeordora), Hexyl Cinname Aldehyde, Perfume,

Green denotes natural and/or organic.

Forumites say: 4.34/5

Indigo's take: I really like it. I got in the tub sulky and cranky. It made a great deal of bubbles -- more than Hot Milk or Marathon [using about the same amount of the bubble bar]. I was soaking and sulking, and almost without realizing it I was getting all artistic and sculpting the bubbles -- seeing how long I could hold the bubbles upside down before they fell off into the water. These were some thick bubbles.

Also, I find myself a little calmer. I'm still angry, but not angry enough to scream anymore. So works as advertised.

Plus it exfoliates, which is always a plus for me.

Indigo's rating: 5/5 Good thing there are a few at the LUSH nearby. It's been discontinued. I'll need to buy a few before it's gone.

Michael Vick got more charges brought against him for dogfighting. We have already established he's a cruel man with no conscience where animals are concerned. He's also tested positive for marijuana.

He's busted. He's likely gonna get the book thrown at him, and the NFL will probably distance itself from him because there really is such a thing as bad publicity.

It's not "taking glee in bringing down the black man who made good," he brought himself down.

It's not "the hero is being treated unfairly because of his culture." Illegal is illegal, and nothing is heroic about what he's done.

Can we get on to some other news already?

I'm going to watch The Bionic Woman and go to bed.

Grade: B+ ...took a little too much time to get to "how does Sam find the quarry" to suit me, and Sock is too vulgar. But for a Kevin Smith directed episode, it's quite good.

Kevin Smith is also doing an ep of Heroes: Origins, btw.

Anyway -- Reaper is quite watchable and rather amusing.

I don't like it much, though. I think it's the gardenia and pink grapefruit. We'll see how I feel about it later.
